they really make me feel like i'm part of something, you know? and you just can't put a pricetag on how funny it is to hear your co-workers referred to as "fire marshalls". anyway, now that i'm back at my desk. . .
the more interviews i read with steven van zandt, the more i like him. what a sweetheart!
i don't know about you, but in my world it seems like everyone is talking about how scary and crime-ridden williamsburg has been as of late (i've actually been assigned a story about it, so if you have anything to say, please email me). here's a link to a group of kids who are trying to do something about it.
for some reason, i think this pitchfork article is really funny.
anyway...there are so many things going on tonight that it's kind of unbelievable. a band i dig, detachment kit, is playing downstairs at lit. there's an open bar upstairs from 11 to 12. in chelsea, a.r.e. weapons (who i'm not so into) are playing at a gallery opening at 530 west 22nd street. AND, jason productshop's band morning theft is playing a free show at luna lounge at 8pm.
whew! the fun continues this weekend. i for one will be snarfing burgers and hitting wiffleballs in staten island for most of it, but here's some flyers for those less fortunate.
also, on saturday the weirdos at the madagascar institute are doing one of their spontaneous "happenings". if you're in the washington square park area around 3pm, totally check it out. the fringe festival kicks off this weekend as well, for those who are interested. i'm going to go see reddy or not and rome.
ok....time for lunch. ciao!
