unfortunately, i still feel utterly unequipped to do any actual work. thus, i blog.
trail of the dead fans (i'm not one, particularly) can get tickets to their upcoming gig at rothko by pre-ordering their new cd from one of the following retailers:
Virgin Megastore Union Square Location @ 14th and Broadway 52 East 14th Street
Vintage Vinyl 51 Lafayette Rd . Fords NJ
Looney Tunes 31 Brookvale Ave West Babylon NY
i love that one of the stores is in west babylon because i go there like, all of the time. don't you? anyway, what else. i'm not sure how much of a draw getting a free chemical brothers ipod sleeve will be, but they are having their record release party this wednesday at duke and duchess:
in tsunami benefit news, the virgin megastores '100 bands in one day' shows are apparently shaping up, but i haven't heard of any of the bands announced so far, so i find this less than exciting. you can check for updates here. more interesting is the upcoming benefit at marquee, where lou reed and metro area are playing and your $30 suggested donation gets you a two-hour open bar. here's the flyer:
find out how to rsvp, reserve tickets, etc. here.
soulwax has remixed lcd soundsystem's 'daft punk is playing at my house', and they've posted the video on their website. lots of ironic drug references, as was to be expected.
i also just got word that south by southwest has announced a "small sampling" of the bands that will be playing this year, and also that brian wilson and some others will be featured guests. other artists that will be playing the conference include the futureheads, bloc party, stephen malkmus, and soundtrack of our lives, although none of them are listed on the website.
now can someone please tell me the secret to finding plane tickets for less than 400 bucks?
