sigh. of course now at the last minute i wish i was going. typical. and, as is always the case when there's something big going on out of town, this weekend promises to be totally boring! probably a good thing since my schedule has been overbooked as of late, but still.
go here to look at some of the stuff that indie rock pioneers slint are auctioning off on ebay. totally weird.
and try going here to see new order performing 'love will tear us apart' on jimmy kimmel last night. fresh. (via melodynelson).
as for the weekend, there are at least a few things going on for those seeking drinks and debauchery. if you're looking for a good show tonight, go check out big a little a at tonic. pure drumming madness, with bells and whistles and cute boys. oh yeah, and they recently opened for sonic youth.
some other junk. . .

i also heard about this random thing happening for the next few weeks. i was at the filativa fashion show last month, and judging by the mob scene that night, you might want to avoid this entirely. sounds kind of rad though.
"Free Filativa Pop-Up Store
12pm-8pm; April 15-May 15, Filativa has opened a one-month-only pop-up space in Soho. Decorated with art, the fun and stylish "store" (you can't actually buy anything). The customers are offered complementary espresso and Italian sodas. You also can get free custom-made T-shirts; stop in, create your own design, and wait a few minutes for your art to be heat-pressed onto a tee. Everyday, one lucky artist will get the chance to paint their own pair of Filativas. 199 Lafayette St (At Cleaveland Pl)"
i for one will probably be doing none of the above. i'm tired. but i will be at the books show at the knitting factory on monday and i'll probably be flying solo (damn no plus ones!), so if you see me, say hello. . .
