AND. . .tonight is the first night of what could be an awesome new party at bar 13, if you let it. here's the good word.
"Starting Thursday June 30th the ad lib will be presenting a little night called YOUNG OVERLORDS. Its going to be held at BAR 13 (of shout fame) on the 2nd floor and roof and will start early at 8pm and end around 1 (sos we can get drunk and still go to work on fri) 2 for 1 from 8-9-djs will be THE VET (the ad lib) KEITH A (kemado records), JOHN MARTIN, and the boys from CHEESEBURGER (new album"THE GANGS ALL HERE" out now on Kemado Records).
come by watch the sun go down and shake your ass once or twice."
speaking of cheeseburger, they sure know how to throw a party. at their record release throwdown last week at red and black, an assload of people showed up, to such an extent that i could barely squeeze myself into the main room when they started their set. i chose instead to chill on the deck (cheeseburgers! ribs!) and hang with what felt like a million people i hadn't seen in ages. i was kind of drunk, so most of the pictures are of the "this is when i tried to take a picture of..." variety.
here's when i *tried* to take a picture of my friend monica and j from the fever.
and here is a three-shot montage of me trying to take a group shot of my friends.
drunkards! boyfriend john chatting with geremy from the fever and jeff from kemado records. i don't know why john's looking all choad in this picture. he looked fine in real life. honest.
dre from kemado telling the best story ever! about when a group of hell's angels made him one of their own at a metal fest in europe where diamond nights was playing. true story.
anyway, so yeah. everybody come to bar 13 tonight and let's get drunk and act in ways that aren't appropriate for a school night. see you there.
